Terms of Service

Welcome to MyWriters.life. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MyWriters.life website, platform, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
2. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password and all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. We are not liable for losses caused by compromised credentials that you failed to protect.
3. Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of all scripts, recordings, storyboards, and other content you create on MyWriters.life ("Your Content"). We claim no intellectual property rights over Your Content. By uploading Your Content, you grant MyWriters.life a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and transmit Your Content solely as needed to provide the Service to you and the people you share it with.
4. Cast Recordings and Contracts
Voice recordings made by cast members, talent, and collaborators are governed by the agreements you enter into with those parties through the platform (including built-in contract templates). MyWriters.life is not a party to those agreements and disclaims any responsibility for disputes between writers and cast members.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
Plans. We offer a free Writer plan and paid plans (Student, Pro, Pro AI, Studio) plus optional add-ons. Current prices are listed on our pricing page.
Auto-renewal. Paid plans and add-ons are billed monthly and automatically renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor (PayPal) to charge your payment method each month at the then-current rate.
Cancellation. You may cancel any subscription at any time through your Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then, and you will not be charged again.
Failed payments. If a recurring payment fails, PayPal will retry up to 3 times over approximately two weeks. If all retries fail, your subscription will be suspended and your account will automatically return to the free Writer plan.
No refunds. All sales are final once the billing period begins. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us within 7 days and we will review the charge in good faith. Nothing in this section waives any statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived by contract under the laws applicable to you.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices at any time. If we do, the new price will not take effect for your account until the next renewal after we notify you (at least 30 days in advance by email).
Student plan verification. The Student plan requires ID verification. If we cannot verify your status, your account remains on the free Writer plan and you are not charged.
6. Payment Processor
All payments are processed by PayPal. MyWriters.life does not store your credit card, debit card, or bank account details. Your use of PayPal is subject to PayPal's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for PayPal's handling of your payment information or for any issues with PayPal's service.
7. Writer Email Accounts
Paid plan subscribers receive a @mywriters.life email address. These addresses remain the property of MyWriters.life and may be suspended or terminated if used for spam, abuse, phishing, harassment, illegal content, or any other violation of these Terms. If your subscription ends, your @mywriters.life email access also ends.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any law or regulation;
- Infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights;
- Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code;
- Harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate any person;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service;
- Use the Service to send unsolicited bulk email, spam, or phishing;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the API beyond the Developer add-on's fair use limits;
- Circumvent any fair-use limits, rate limits, or feature gates.
9. AI Features and Fair Use
AI-powered features (script assistant, script doctor, text-to-speech voices, image generation, auto-breakdown) are subject to fair-use limits as described on the pricing page. We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently disable AI features for any user whose usage pattern suggests abuse, automation, or commercial resale.
AI-generated outputs are provided "as is" and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and using (or not using) AI output. MyWriters.life does not claim copyright in AI output, but you acknowledge that AI output may not be copyrightable under applicable law.
10. Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms, for abusive or fraudulent activity, for chargebacks, or at our sole discretion for any reason we believe necessary to protect the Service, its users, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. You may export Your Content before termination.
11. Termination by You
You may delete your account at any time from your Settings page. Upon deletion, Your Content, account data, scripts, recordings, and any associated @mywriters.life email mailbox are permanently removed. This is irreversible.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT AI OUTPUT IS ACCURATE OR FIT FOR ANY PURPOSE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MYWRITERS.LIFE, ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, SHAREHOLDERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, LICENSORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, LOSS OF CONTENT, SERVICE INTERRUPTION, OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION, SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU IN PART.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MyWriters.life and its owners, officers, directors, shareholders, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, and fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) Your Content; (b) your use or misuse of the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party; (e) any dispute between you and any other user, cast member, writer, or collaborator; and (f) any cast recording, contract, or audition you arrange through the Service.
15. No Agency; Content Neutrality
MyWriters.life is a neutral platform provider. We do not evaluate, endorse, or take responsibility for the quality, accuracy, or legality of scripts, recordings, contracts, or any other user-generated content. We are not a talent agency, production company, or legal service.
16. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party providers (including PayPal for payments, Anthropic/Claude for AI text features, and text-to-speech providers for voice features). Their performance, availability, and pricing are outside our control. We are not liable for failures, errors, or outages of third-party services.
17. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or by posting a notice on the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. You agree that any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
19. Informal Dispute Resolution
Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to first contact us at admin@mywriters.life and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Most concerns can be resolved quickly this way.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MyWriters.life regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
